How much does the Green Deal cost?
There are no upfront installation improvement costs for any energy-efficient improvements to be made to your property. There is, however, a cost for the assessment which ranges from £99 to £150, depending on your type of property.
The cost is added to your electricity bills.
The amount you pay should be offset by the savings you make on reducing your energy bills.
What are the benefits of going green?
Your property will be fully compliant with the new government legislation; i.e. a property that meets at least energy rating E.
For Landlords – Having a more energy efficient property means you can potentially command a higher rent and vice versa. Tenants will be looking for an energy-efficient property to reduce their utility bills – making your property more attractive to let.
For Tenants – You will have rented a property that’s warmer and more energy-efficient.
